Last year I started having office hours for anyone who wanted to ask me questions “off the clock”. I got away from the practice, but earlier this year, I vowed to restore them — for good. I am making good on that promise. My office hours will be the third Tuesday of each month from 4 PM at the Taco Mac Perimeter Place location. I anticipate that other, more sage folks will join me from time to time and make the exercise an even more robust resource. Maybe even Scott Burkett will emerge from the Witness Protection Program. So, my office hours resume on April 20th.
You can ask me whatever you want, like -
- What is my startup worth? (Probably not nearly as much as you think, if anything at all)
- Why wasn’t I invited to StartupLounge Atlanta? (because we thought nobody in the room would want to invest in your deal)
- How do I sell my product? (Pick up the phone and start cold calling)
- What was the only World Series to end on a caught stealing? (1926 by Babe Ruth against the St. Louis Cardinals)
- What terms are prevalent in venture capital deals?
- Why should steroid users not be allowed in the Baseball Hall of Fame? (because you can’t be enshrined as a hero of the game when you damaged its credibility)
- What are your favorite chess openings (The Danish Gambit as White, and the Dutch Defense/Alekhine’s defense as black)
- Does my deal have a realistic chance of funding or should I plan on bootstrapping?
- What are your favorite video games right now (Star Trek Online and MLB 2K10 for the Xbox 360)
- What was your favorite video game of all time? (Unreal with StarCraft being a close 2nd)
- How do I get in front of investors in Atlanta?
- What is your favorite beer? (Belhaven – Scotland)
Yeah yeah I know this is yet another event clogging up the jam-packed Atlanta startup calendar that is just chock full of great, useful things to attend. Worst case scenario – if nobody shows up, I still get to go to Taco Mac.
See you there! — mike

Great news Mike, do we need to make an appointment or just show up at Taco Mac and look for you?

Just show up and hang. I guess it would be nice to know if anyone plans to show up…

You should give Bad Company 2 a whirl.
Also I think it’s great that you are giving a block of your time to encourage prodding and brain-picking. I hope it isn’t as painful as it sounds.

Great idea — I just hope your time isn’t oversubscribed! I look forward to seeing you there.
If we run out of other topics, we can always place bets on when the vast overabundance of startup events in Silicon Valley will surely bring their economy to its knees.
